Highly adore this subclass[edit]

The idea is great, the work of developing the entire order with its set of disciplines is amazing. But yet, there are also some underworked points, which i wish to improve. As the page wasnt updated for pretty long time...

Most of all, the Phantom Lancer disciplines nearly always require some sort of interaction with summoned "illusions", or clones. The problem is that only Lancer himself can summon clones, and thus any other Mystic subclass, if picks a discipline of Phantom Lancer order, simply cannot use it at full.

I would suggest an additional rule: If you know at least one of Lancer's discilpines, you gain the ability to spend as an action your hit dies at the number of consonant allied humanoids, equal to the number of dices spend. These allies are now marked as your subordinate. Subordinates are counted as clones when any required by psionic discipline. If a discipline requires clone to be destroyed, a subordinate loses that status instead and cannot gain it from you again until you finish a long rest. Subordination duration is equal to your proficiency bonus, and subordinate can both cancel it earlier as a free action or try to delay it beyond said limit: for that he throws 1d8 at the end of subordination, and if 8 is rolled, the subordination persists for one more round (can repeat, cant affect the roll in any way as advantage or something). Subordination ends immediately, if subordinate is reduced to 0 hp or unconscious. Lacner himself can use subordination system in addition to clones, of course.

Pretty complex, i see, but i hope, that could improve the PL disciplines.

Also what is the meaning of 3rd level ability? Cannot Phantom Lancer control at will all of his illusions? If so, who is in control of them then?

P.S.: that is my very first post on that site and english is not my native, so sorry for anything and explain if i am wrong --D-Smith (talk) 03:37, 21 August 2020 (MDT)
