Talk:One-Two Punch (3.5e Feat)

Questions[edit]
Does this feat provide two different benefits as stated or was it just unclear and supposed to be the same thing? Basically, was the feat supposed to say:
Benefit: If you attack a flatfooted opponent and make a critical hit, you may make an attack of opportunity at your highest attack bonus against that opponent as long as it is an unarmed attack and you haven’t used up your attacks of opportunity for that round.
It seems a little unclear because the text right now provides two separate benefits, but they are linked in the same paragraph. One other thing to note is that giving away extra attacks is very powerful and should be used with caution. Every critical hit could get silly -- there has to be some spell that improves the critical range of fists to 18-20 or better (I'm thinking druid natural attack boosting spells perhaps with improved critical). At high levels, it seems to be (from my experience), that you either hit stuff with ease, or you can barely hit it -- no in-between. So supposing you hit with ease and you are at 20th level (5 attacks with flurry of blows), you are looking at a 55.6% chance approximately of getting an extra attack. Is that broken? Not sure. I'm just saying you should use caution. Aarnott 09:29, 24 January 2007 (MST)
- Hm... I MoI'ed Imakuni and we will see what he has to say. However, I think it may be overpowered for all the reasons you stated above. If the authors does not respond anytime go ahead and change it to the "more balanced" way. --Green Dragon 23:28, 24 January 2007 (MST)
- Hmm...I see your point. Let me change it now. I did word it king of strange, to be honest. Let me try to balance it here. --Imakuni 10:27, 25 January 2007 (MST))
- Looks better, thanks for doing that :). --Green Dragon 16:40, 25 January 2007 (MST)
