Talk:Nightmare (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
This weapon has two instances of round counting(which is not a thing in 5e, see standard durations on this page), it extends the duration of the frightened condition by one round and 1d4 rounds(on a side note, not a single thing in the PHB or MM has round counting, they use standard durations of until the start of your next turn, 1 minute, 10 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day, ect.).--Blobby383b (talk) 05:30, 15 October 2017 (MDT)
Regarding the use of this weapon[edit]
Might want to use this for my game, but I find it a bit odd that the frightening effect lasts until the *start* of your next turn. There is almost no way one could use the action to slam Nightmare on the ground and then use an Attack action to actually do damage with it in the same turn. Except a fighter with Action Surge maybe.
If the player doesn't attack in the same turn, the creatures are not frightened anymore during their next turn...
Also, *Every creature* is a bit OP I think. Is there a way to adjust it? Maybe a number of creatures equal to PB? Maybe increase the duration to 1 minute but the creatures can make a saving throw at the start of each of its turn? Or change the duration for "until the *end* of your next turn". --Tatador (talk) 15:51, 25 July 2022 (MDT)
