Talk:Neutronium Golem, Lesser (5e Creature)

An attempt at adapting the infamous 3.5e neutronium golem to 5e while making it even somewhat feasible to approach. If you are a DM, don't try to make your players to fight it directly, instead maybe making them work around it or confront it in a non-combat scenario. If you are a player whose DM tries to force you into combat with this thing, I recommend you attack them instead. More notes:

  • Pretty low AC and health since it gains a crazy amount of temp hp every round and has resistance or immunity to almost all damage. I
  • Removed the original's trait of instantly vaporizing everything for miles upon death, since this way you can at least try to remove it by force. Instead, it now loses control of the ability to shield some creatures from its AoE effects. Might make sense to work in some mechanic around it dealing EVEN MORE damage, but this really should be an edge case as it is.
  • I added the Quasar action as a bit of an intentional weak point, so players can attempt to bait it into attacking from far away and then try to lay on the pain before it can regain any temp hp.
  • Really want a way for melee classes to be relevant here, but I legitimately cannot imagine a justification for it (I did let players shield one another from some AoE damage, so tanks feel useful).
