Talk:Nerubian (3.5e Race)

Hello, I made this page, and I am quite new to D&D so if anyone can refine things a bit or have constructive edits feel free to make changes.

Heya, spotted the nerubian on the recent changes tab and since I'm an avid Warcraft fan, decided to check this over and give it a little editing. First of all, great race, and one that's concept I've been looking forward to: drider's are a little too heavy on the LA department to be playable in a normal game :P
I mostly fixed grammar issues and problems with the writing, with the greatest mechanical changes being 1) changed the ability scores, as Wisdom has little to do with scholarly intellect and Dexterity seems like a good alternative, 2) changed type to Monstrous Humanoid, as per Centaur (since Insectoid doesn't exist, and we already have a perfectly good alternative), 3) modified the special abilities (webslinging, spider empathy) to be more in line with D&D standards, 4) gave it the average skill bonuses for its movement types, and 5) gave it a level adjustment of +1, since the abilities are clearly beyond a base D&D race.
I'd consider dropping the swimming speed (I didn't know nerubians could swim, and it seems unlikely for a spider creature to be a good swimmer) and the associated skill bonus. I'd also make the favored class a base class like with most races, probably Wizard to go with the lore. I did neither of these changes because I didn't want to take your race too far from the original concept. What do you think?
You'll also want to sign your comments in discussions with either the signature button (second from the right on the top) or with four ~'s (as in ~~~~). It'll make communication easier :) Cancelion (talk) 01:40, 26 May 2014 (MDT)
Thanks! I like all of the changes, and changing the class to a wizard would be great, because I couldn't find a necromancer class that seemed all that great so i tried to put the next best thing.--Zoidfa (talk) 11:10, 26 May 2014 (MDT)
Great, I went ahead and changed the favored class etc. Looks very neat now. Also, when commenting on a discussion page, you can increase the depth (that is, how far it is to the right) of your comment with colons (as in :). Just put as many colons as needed in the front of your comment, and the discussion pages become easier to read :) I did this with your previous comment, as can be seen above.
