Overpowered?[edit]

I was just thinking, this has a better hit die than the cerebramancer, more skill selection, and has divine spells, which are better than arcane. I think this PrC may be overpowered, you might want to make it so the first level he just gets divine, than next level arcane, for the first 3 or four. Just an idea though. --Green Dragon 18:39, 9 April 2006 (MST)

I think knocking down the HD to d4 and the BAB to 1/2 would be enough, or knocking the HD down to d6, the BAB to 1/2, and having Will being the only good save. —Sledged 22:52, 20 October 2006 (MDT)
Would that really counter the bonus to being able to cast divine? I see divine as much better than arcane... --Green Dragon 12:06, 21 October 2006 (MDT)
You're probably right. I say d4 HD, 1/2 BAB, poor fort and ref saves, good will save, full caster and manifester progression, and base 2 skill points per level. That'll make it comparable to the Mystic Theurge. —Sledged 12:49, 21 October 2006 (MDT)
Well... I think all those would help, but it is still a bit better than the Cerebremancer. I would say we need to make one more thing worse with it, such as make it have higher prerequisites. For example higher level spells & powers needed, higher Knowledge (religion) or Knowledge (psionics). Your ideas? --Green Dragon 18:47, 21 October 2006 (MDT)
How would you compare it to the Mystic Theurge? Do think psionics would be better than arcane magic? —Sledged 14:04, 22 October 2006 (MDT)
I would say this a little better than the Mystic Theurge, simply because of Divine. Also, I think that Arcane magic and Psionic magic are pretty close in balance, Psionics is good at high levels, just like Arcane magic, but it is also very good at low levels, unlike Arcane Magic. They Balance each other out in time (With the Psionics being a little better), but in the begging of a character Psionics is a better option. I still still say just make the requirements higher or harder, your ideas? --Green Dragon 15:59, 22 October 2006 (MDT)
I think it would be fine having it the same as the Mystic Theurge. Given the name, it seems that's what the author had in mind. But if you want to make the requirements slightly steeper, require the Mind Domain. —Sledged 16:22, 22 October 2006 (MDT)
I think that would work well, just adding the Mind Domain. So, the chages that I will do are: D4 HD, 1/2 BAB, Will only good, and add Mind Domain to the requirments. --Green Dragon 16:57, 22 October 2006 (MDT)
Done. --Green Dragon 17:00, 22 October 2006 (MDT)
