Talk:Medium (5e Class)
From D&D Wiki
Hello, I'm the guy that made this version of the Spirit Commander class, any question you can ask me :D--SpikeSunshine (talk) 17:05, 16 February 2022 (MST)
What happens with the subordinates if the medium doesn't give any commands to some subordinates? Do they fight a nearby enemy? Do they protect themselves? Or do they do what some familiar's do and take the dodge action? Do they have their own initiative? For example, if I summon my advisor and the 3 guards and use my turn to command the advisor and 2 guards, what does the third guard do? Does he just sit there? --Wfinch21
- Hello, I would personally treat the subordinates that were not given a command, for balance reasons, as if you lost concentration, as you can see in the Subordinates Controlling section:
"While not concentrating they will just stand still."
- If you choose to use the Alternate rule for Subordinate Controlling, there is a specific topic dedicated to answering your question:
"If you issue no commands, the creature only defends itself against hostile creatures."
- Regarding initiative, it isn't mentioned in the Medium Class, but I judge it would be fair that the subordinates act immediately after you and you can choose the initiative among the subordinates.
- Regarding your last question, it also isn't mentioned in the Medium Class, so assuming you are using the standard Subordinates Controlling rules I personally believe that it is fair that the third guard in the situation you described would just use the Dodge action and not move.--SpikeSunshine (talk) 14:36, 7 February 2023 (MST)
