Talk:Mail'd Mage (3.5e Prestige Class)

From D&D Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Pronounced meyl*ed meyj (Male Ed Mage), this prestige class is an adaptation of Hhernandez's 'Battlemage,' as I am not knowledgeable (or arrogant) enough to simply revise his entry to balance it (despite its low review rating). Thank you.

* Class abilities Mail Bonding Ritual and Mail Enhancements are humorous, but exist because I couldn't think of a better alternative. Please suggest alternatives.

* Please evaluate whether or not I've appropriately recognized/cited copyrights & credit in the article proper.

* Please weigh-in on the older version versus newer version debate below.

PROGRESSION DEBATE[edit]

Though not shown here, there has been some debate over the progression of the class in terms of whether or not it is underpowered or overpowered. PLEASE leave a comment on which progression seems the more balanced and appropriate for a prestige class if you have the ability to critically discern which is superior.

IDEAS[edit]

* I'm thinking about changing the first bonus feat to the 'Armor Focus' Feat and changing the second bonus feat to the 'Tower Shield Proficiency' feat.

* If common consensus is that this build is too powerful, I may have the mail'd mage sacrifice spell slots to perform the Mail Bonding Ritual depending on the heaviness of the armor (light = level 2 spell slot, medium = level 4 spell slot, heavy = level 6 spell slot). That might be overkill though, I'm not sure. Any comments? Cthulhu Kid 00:33, 19 January 2011 (MST)
