Which Classes Should Have This Spell[edit]
This spell does a good job reworking magic missile into a melee spell that deals guaranteed damage and I agree that the balance of the spell is great.
When looking at which classes should get this spell though, I believe that cleric, sorcerer, and wizard are the most fitting while bard and warlock shouldn't have the spell for different reasons.
- I would say that the spell fits the cleric well because of the large amount of clerics who gain access to heavy armor and wade into melee combat and because clerics get a decent number of blaster spells(not as many as the sorcerer and wizard though).
- For the sorcerer, they get almost all of the damage spells that the wizard has.
- For the wizard, they should have the spell because they get every arcane spell under the sun and also because they get basically every blaster spell available besides a few specifically designed for the cleric class.
- Looking at the bard however, their spell list is almost entirely focused on utility spells and spells that inflict conditions. Magic missile and most other damaging spells don't fit into the bard spell list so this spell likely shouldn't be on it either.
- The warlock spell list is a bit of a unique case as well. The spell could potentially fit, however the spell if far too powerful for the base warlock class. They don't really get access to good aoe or single target damage dealing spells besides one of their signature spells hellish rebuke.--Blobby383b (talk) 13:03, 17 December 2019 (MST)
- As for the summary, there are a couple of options you could go for. These are a few ideas I came up with: enchanting your fists with targeting magic, covering your fists with a magical aura that guides you to an enemies weak point, or you strike with targeting magic that pierces through an enemies defenses.--Blobby383b (talk) 14:57, 17 December 2019 (MST)
