Talk:Magic Card (5e Spell)

Should this be an April Fools spell?

- It bears a stark resemblance to the Magic Stone spell, apart from the fact that it deals 1d4+1 instead of 1d6+spellcasting modifier. The additional damage from the card type makes up for that, somewhat, but it can still fall short of Magic Stone's damage output, since the spellcasting modifier is scarcely less than a +4 or +5 for a dedicated caster. I will say that if the intention of the spell was to be a humorous parody of Magic Stone, or otherwise a joke page, then feel free to add the April Fools template. If it was intended to be used in a serious campaign, then the April Fools template is unnecessary. If it was anything in between, use your best judgement. --Nuke The Earth (talk) 02:16, 19 December 2020 (MST)
- My only concern was whether it was appropriate for a spell to require additional real-world equipment to use so I'll leave at as is. Regarding the reduced damage, I was concerned that the potential damage might be too high if it added the full spellcasting modifier. If you think 1d4 + the modifier is balanced I'll use that. this should be an april fool's spell. also this is too convoluted to be a spell let alone a cantrip spell.
