What is the actual point of Spell Bank? You sacrifice a spell slot to gain a spell slot of the same level? Isn't that really pointless?--Blackbando (talk) 12:59, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

If you read it, it states that if you sacrifice one spell slot, you gain another spell slot the next day, so for example if you have four 1st level spell slots, you can get a fifth slot after a short or long rest that you in that day. Not to mention that you can only use this feature 3 times in a 7 day period otherwise you would just farm spell slot to no end. - cam a.k.a the-unambitious-bard (tumblr)

Ah, I apologize. I must have missed that part when I was reading it (or perhaps it wasn't there when I read it, as that was like a week or two ago).--Blackbando (talk) 14:07, 17 June 2017 (UTC)

p.s If you like this class, check out the Polymath class that i've made a few months back http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Polymath_(5e_Class) - cam a.k.a the-unambitious-bard (tumblr)

edit: I've amended it now, happy? - Cam a.k.a the-unambitious-bard (tumblr)

Feedback
  • What's disappointing is that this largely copies the wizard and sorcerer instead of coming up with a unique class feature.
  • What is a "Compound Pouch" and an "Arcana Focus"? Do you mean "component pouch" and "arcane focus"?
  • Starting equipment gives an optional spellbook, but the spellcasting feature doesn't mention a spellbook
  • Cryptic Power is a bit like the sorcerer's sorcery points and you should look to this for scaling this correctly.
  • As I mentioned in the needsbalance message that was removed, the mancer veil features either do not make sense or are overpowered if they are permanent bonuses.
  • I do not know what the Side Note is about. Why is it mentioning archetypes from other classes? Marasmusine (talk) 10:50, 29 June 2017 (MDT)

Thanks for the feedback, the idea of this class was to be a all-purpose spellcaster since i don't see it as greatly justified to have 2 separate classes that work extremely similar to each other. Sure, one can learn more spell but is limited by preparing spells and the other one is flexible but can learn less spells. But this could just be a archetypes imo. So thats why i created a mix between the two with a sprinkle of warlock spells thrown in.

Also, I've adjusted the mancer veil so it lasts for a minute until you need to finish a short or long rest.

I think Cryptic powers more similar to a warlock ability, if you have a better suggestion for a level 18th ability, im happy to hear it.

One more thing, i know this class is in a odd grey area of it being in-between a class-reimagining and a fully separate class of it own. I think this is more of a alternative to the Wizard and Sorcerer. (hence why it its a mishmash of the two) Not because they are broken, but i prefer the idea of a all-in-one class instead of being two different class that function pretty similar. - Cam a.k.a the-unambitious-bard (tumblr)

Can someone enable editing again? Their are more archetypes i would love to add and i don't see the need to lock the page for vandalism because of a quick play character sheet. - Cam a.k.a the-unambitious-bard (tumblr)

just as a question what races would grant charm immunity. I have a friend that would like to take advantage of enchanters 2nd level feature.--Lord Survival (talk) 10:18, 20 February 2019 (MST)

I've just realized that their are no core dnd races that are immune to being charmed. Instead, the character gains advantage to being charmed. If they are a race with Fey ancestor (elves, half elves) then they gain immunity from being charmed. - cam a.k.a the-unambitious-bard (tumblr)

Hey just a question, has the spell list been updated for EE, SCAG, and XGTE?--Lord Survival (talk) 01:58, 13 March 2019 (MDT)

Never mind found them.--Lord Survival (talk) 02:01, 13 March 2019 (MDT)
