Talk:Machine Doll (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Hello I am Rodregaz Black the original creator of the machine doll I would like to give thanks to the person that well polished the machine doll and made it fun to play I have over some time have fixed some small issues with the design to make it less overpowered and actually playable but still I would like to give thanks to the man the I say had the same idea but a bigger imagination then me when making this race.
P.S if you have any suggestions or anything I should fix about this race to make it better please leave a message In the suggestion box below
- Thematically it's unclear how this fits in a normal D&D campaign. It's obviously sci-fi. Is it for a specific campaign?
- Unfortunately every single trait needs changing to make it work properly with 5e. I don't know where to begin, it's just all wrong, it might be quicker to just get someone to rewrite it for you rather than me go into detail what's wrong with each trait. I believe I saw someone said they revised it, and, while it's been a long time since I've seen the original (though I know it was terribly OP), I can say this; it's still terribly overpowered. It has terminology not used in 5e-weakness comes to mind-has some lazy editing-Speed just says 30. Even if you're too lazy to type out the full 'base walking speed' spiel, was it too hard to type 'ft.'-and overall has traits that are way too powerful for any race in 5e. Even the natural armor trait not letting you wear armor is overpowered. If you get exceptional scores at the start you can have an armor class of 16 at 1st level, and then at 4th level have it be 17. Now you're a tortle. Next level, you're better than a tortle. And it will just get better. This race needs another revision, this time from someone competent with the rules of 5e. I'd do it, but I have no idea how RWBY works, and am not willing to watch an entire show for the sake of revising a race I don't really care about.--Blackbando (talk) 08:45, 31 October 2017 (MDT)
Howdy, this is GusOmega I editted the Machine Doll to try and make it more playable while keeping the original vision. I do apologize about the laziness, and I will try to find ways to adjust it to be inline with the other races
