Talk:Lycanthrope Melee Optimization (3.5e Optimized Character Build)
From D&D Wiki
How do you get a +22 to strength checks? A strength of 38 gives you a +14.
- A better optimization for this build would be a Werebear Stonechild (Races of Stone.) Natural lycanthrope is level 9 stonechild is another 6 putting you at 15. Taking war shaper 5 brings you to 20 with the following bonuses.
- Str +24 (+16 WB +8 SC)
- Dex +2
- Con +16
- Int +2
- Wis +2
- Cha -2
- +3 attribute points
- +2 Natural armor (+7 in half form or bear form)
- Morph body - additional +4 str/con
- Immune to critical hits
- Large size (per bear template)
- Fast heal 2
- Full heal on form change
- Incredibly important - magic items. Most magic items do work in werebear form with the exception of armor but that is cured with the wild shape armor ability allowing you to were your super heavy armor even in werebear form.
- With your proposed starting stat line Str 16, Dex 14, Con 16, Int, Wis and Cha 10 that means your full form would be Str 44 (+22), Dex 16 (+3), Con 36 (+18), Int 12 (+1), Wis 12 (+1), Cha 8 (-1). A mithral full plate wild shape +5 armor and a shield +5 take you to an armor class of 40 without anything else in your hybrid form, and your base hp will be 15d8+360. Your base attack value is low (+11 at level 20) but it will give you a base three attacks. Your weakest attack will be +23 before you figure in if you are using a weapon any enhancement bonuses etc etc. Tivanir (talk) 07:33, 17 October 2013 (MDT)
