Why is it light and finesse? It weighs as much as a greatsword and is apparently even longer. Marasmusine (talk) 03:52, 14 July 2015 (MDT)
- Longsword, 4 ft. length
- Greatsword, 5 ft.
- Fullblade, 6 ft. (exotic weapon from 3.5e Arms & Equipment, not a reach weapon, no official way yet of doing superior/exotic 5e weapons)
- Longblade, 7 ft. or longer if it wants to be a reach weapon. I don't think it would be "used like a spear" (why not just use a pike?), if we extrapolate from zweihanders and claymores, this would probably be immense downward swings. Marasmusine (talk) 03:55, 15 March 2016 (MDT)
- This is used for the reasons of magical weapons such as a Vorpal longblade, it can be little overpowered but for the right reasons. Azernath (talk) 07:47, 15 March 2016 (MDT)
- That's okay, I just think perhaps the description should say this sword is 7 or 8 feet long. I like the idea of "exotic" weapons being balanced as though they were martial weapons, but special things for them can be unlocked through fighter specialties or feats. - I get your drift about the weapon being perhaps longer; however, for the weapon to be an exotic weapon we would have to get a basic idea of how 5e consider them. Till that time we would just say that this weapon is a martial weapon similar to the ones carried by Sephiroth from Final Fantasy or Abaddon from Darksiders.
