so this turn shuriken (an exotic weapon) into a simple weapon, and ups its damage potential from d2 to d10?--Name Violation 16:03, 6 November 2009 (MST)

No, that's not what it does. What it does is use shuriken as ammunition. The weapon itself is akin to a crossbow. Do you seriously think that if you were to toss a crossbow bolt instead of launching it from a crossbow it would still do 1d8? Doesn't exactly take an exotic weapon proficiency to pull a trigger. Besides, it still has a reload time, so you can't shoot more than once a round the way you can with plain thrown shuriken, and as a crossbow-type weapon you can't add Strength to damage.Dude Bob 22:30, 6 November 2009 (MST)

Actually, that is exactly what it does. You load an exotic weapon into a simple weapon and let the simple weapon throw the exotic weapon for you, except that it goes from doing shuriken damage to heavy crossbow damage. The difference? One is a simple weapon that fires ammunition that makes sense; the other makes no sense, has a shorter range, and fires ammunition that costs twice as much. Oh, and this is the light version. The heavy version is a simple ranged weapon that shoots greataxes, appearently. Atypicaloracle 07:16, 13 September 2010 (MDT)
guns are as point and click as a weapon gets, and they are exotic weapons. even in modern guns need a feat. also throwing a shuriken is much different than firing a x-bow. i know, i have a functional home made clockwork shuriken launcher. i tried making it like a c-bow and it doesnt work. it needs a spring loaded "flick", nor a x-bow "push". the physics on the 2 are very different. and YES it can launch various kinds of shurikens, star, spike, or even daggers. i hate to nit pick, but why would you pick one of these up, when c-bows would be all around easier since most places in a d&d campain don't commonly carry exotic weapons, but most shops have bolts.--Name Violation 23:13, 6 November 2009 (MST)
