Cannibalism[edit]
How long does it take to cannibalize a corpse? Would you base this off of mass/weight, size of the creature, etc? --Ghostwheel 06:54, 13 July 2009 (MDT)
- In the game I played as a Kroot the DM ruled it was one round per hitpoint. It says on the main page that a medium creature is worth 2hp so it'd take two rounds to cannibalize it. It's up to your DM, really. --Lolzords
- Ghostwheel, please title your discussion posts.
- Lolzords, it is really bad design to leave things up to a DM. Especially a defining feature. I would make it give 1 HP per HD of the creature and have it take either 1 round per HD (so that this is not usable in combat) or 1 standard action (so it is usable in combat). Also make sure to note that a corpse can only be cannibalized once (and presumably) is not completely consumed (which matters for some resurrection spells). --Aarnott 08:49, 14 July 2009 (MDT)
- Changes have been made to the main article regarding the ability. Also fixed some spelling mistakes, I'm still in the habit of using the British spelling on here. Lolzords 09:19, 14 July 2009 (MDT)
- I wouldn't bother with size differences. Bigger creatures will have more HD. You could even make it apply to only racial HD (having only class levels would count as 1 HD). Therefore, a level 60 wizard is as nutritious as a level 1 commoner. A lion, however, has a lot more meat. --Aarnott 09:41, 14 July 2009 (MDT)
- Actually, come to think of it, that does make more sense. These dicussion pages are handy, aren't they? --Lolzords 10:01, 14 July 2009 (MDT)
- Use the "MoI a user about this change" feature found at the bottom of the edit window to let me know when you are done with this race and I will give it a detailed look over for you if you want. --Aarnott 10:43, 14 July 2009 (MDT)
- I'll do that, thanks for the offer. :) --Lolzords 11:32, 14 July 2009 (MDT)
Picture[edit]
Added a picture. It was drawn by my English teacher, so thanks to him. Lolzords 09:19, 14 July 2009 (MDT)
Changes[edit]
I lessened the natural armor bonus so now it's +1. I also changed the cannibalization ability to be a full round action which provokes an attack of opportunity. It's not meant to be used during combat, as you can see. --Lolzords 07:57, 18 July 2009 (MDT)
- Added age and height and weight charts. --Lolzords 08:10, 18 July 2009 (MDT)
- Annnnnd... finished! --Lolzords 15:31, 18 July 2009 (MDT)
- Scratch that, not quite --Lolzords 15:43, 18 July 2009 (MDT)
- Now it's done. --Lolzords 17:13, 18 July 2009 (MDT)
Review[edit]
I have made some small edits for clarity in the racial features section. You need to list a climb speed (10 ft. would probably be good). I would switch the stat bonus required for favored class fighter and barbarian. Barbarians like to have a high strength score so that it can go through the roof in a rage. It looks balanced to me and I would suggest adding a racial paragon class and some racial feats just to flesh it out a bit more. --Aarnott 10:04, 23 July 2009 (MDT)
