Talk:King of Games (5e Background)
From D&D Wiki
This background lacks mechanical discussions around the features ... and there are A LOT of features. (typically 1 - this has 4?)
Example
"When playing a game based on luck such as a card or dice game, you’ll (almost) always get the roll or card you need to win the game at the last minute by careful observation of the ebb and flow of the game, and know exactly how to use it once you get it."
What does that mean mechanically? How often? Like a 1-5 on a d6? Is this effect magical? if you are playing against a NPC with this background... who wins?
There are a lot of things that seem built to more or less cheese the King of Game's class so I'd be wary of this at my table.
Suggestion: Choose a feature. work on the mechanics if the feature where the feature becomes a source of competition/contest.
ie... like on an ability check, the creature gains expertise on gaming sets or the like.
