Talk:Ki Fighter, Variant (5e Class)

This class still has a few of the problems the Ki Fighter (5e Class) had, but it seems like this class is overall a solid improvement over the orginal. Here are some of the concerns that are still relevant.
- This class is lacking a description of what a ki fighter is, it is missing questions about creating a ki fighter, missing a summary, and multiclassing is not completed.
- This class is still overall better than the monk, with the Meditation feature which gives you advantage on all Wisdom saving throws at far too low level(and if you have a Wisdom based attack it is overpowered in that respect as well), Greater Flurry which increases your damage output by too much, Ki Transfusion which allows you to repeatedly recover spell slots for your party by taking short rests(free healing, 9th level spells, many spells are overpowered when you get them back on a short rest, ect.), and the class's feature table does not make the class's features. The subclasses also have non-standard save DC's(should be 8 + prof + modifier, as stated by the ki feature) and many of their effects are unclear. There is also mentions of base attack bonus which is not a thing in 5e, see Class Do's and Don'ts (5e Guideline).
- This class's wording still needs improvement but it is somewhat better than the original, still see Help:When to Italicize and Capitalize. --Blobby383b (talk) 12:11, 24 March 2018 (MDT)

Besides that, I went through the class features and fixed up the last few issues the class had with wording and/or other overlooked balance issues. - Changes-The first school for this class will be the school of the wolf ie Yamchas. Adjusted the final dmage for ki blast. I am not sure about the chop jab ability And am debating replacing it with blunt,pierce, slash resistance. And I don't know how to change the class name, considereing the original Ki Fighter class seems to have been abandonded I intend to rename this class the Ki Fighter variant.--You can call me York. - Resistance to those damage types that early is far too powerful.(that is close to a 20th level feature in terms of power, a few 1st party subclasses get it at 18th level for example).
- I am not sure of the feature added for the School of the Wolf subclass, the overall gimmick behind the trait could potential screw you over(if they notice that you faked it, they have advantage on melee attacks against you, see prone) and it costs ki points.
- As for renaming the class, the standardized name for the class would be Ki Fighter, Variant (5e Class). You can move the class and the talk page if you go the page for the class(not the discussion page) and click the move tab at the top where you can then rename a page.--Blobby383b (talk) 13:18, 3 April 2018 (MDT)
- Changes-Changed Chop jab to Ki karate. Removed Ki cost for playing opossum. Added the wolf fang fist and spirit ball techniques. I need a link to the spirtual weapon page for spirit ball. - Ki Karate. Generally classes that are like the monk/fighter and those that make a lot of attacks should not have any bonuses to their damage output as it increases the damage output of a class by far too much(this increases your damage output by roughly 15/20 damage a turn at higher levels and a significant amount at lower levels)
- Ki Blast. The current ki blast is indeed too weak at higher levels. You could either make it scale much more and be one powerful energy blast(1d4-2d4-3d4-4d4?) or you can make it works with extra attack.--Blobby383b (talk) 12:40, 9 April 2018 (MDT)
