Talk:Hitpoint Rework (5e Variant Rule)
From D&D Wiki
I apologize if this is worded strangely or is unclear, I am very tired at the time of writing this and may have to come back and make clarifying edits later. I'd just read an article on how the human brain finds additive functions the easiest and how additive computations are the fastest and whipped this rule up right quick. --Gl17cHw3rk5 (talk) 13:03, 29 December 2023 (MST)
- Oh, no need to apologize, it was worded clearly enough for me to understand. It reminds me of what I have seen playing Warhammer, when we put dice down next to big units to show what damage has been dealt. I tend to "count down", so if a unit has 6 wounds and has taken 2 damage, I put a little red die next to it showing "4". But lots of other people do the inverse, they would put a die down showing "2". Marasmusine (talk) 13:30, 29 December 2023 (MST)
- Thank you, I was worried it would come across as jumbled. And that is fascinating, I'm unfamiliar with the wargaming scene and never knew how "wounds" were accounted for during play. It's interesting that behavior hasn't bled over to tabletop more since there's a historical and player-base overlap between the two. --Gl17cHw3rk5 (talk) 14:42, 29 December 2023 (MST)
