Talk:Hircus (5e Race)

Not bad. A nice remix of pre-existing racial traits. I do worry that it seems to be a combination of purely combat related racial traits though. The only non-combat trait is darkvision! As a consequence, this race strongly skews any character playing it toward combat, either as a Tank/DPS, or as a blaster. So, in that regard, it is rather imbalanced. (Not outrageously so, as some on this wiki, but imbalanced in the sense that 5e expects characters to perform in the whole game, not just combat.) Perhaps consider what a character of this race would contribute in highly social campaigns, where skill checks and combat are rare; or what they could contribute to an exploration focused campaign, where combat is just one infrequent threat the characters need to contend with. Also, consider what you may be willing to sacrifice in order to represent that. For example, you could drop the number of weapon proficiencies, keeping only the most iconic weapon or two, in order to add a non-combat trait. Another thing I noticed is that Fire Wall does not seem to be a spell in the PHB. Perhaps you remembered a spell name wrong? --Kydo (talk) 13:45, 10 June 2016 (MDT)

Why are the subraces unbalanced on this edit? [Previous Hircus revision]
And the user got warned because no one would explain why it was unbalanced and they insisted on their version? BigShotFancyMan (talk) 10:44, 8 September 2018 (MDT)
