Editing and balance issues[edit]
- For the main part of the recent edits, my dear IP, this race is borderline overpowered for its LA already, if you're thinking of adding plenty a' more bonuses, you'd need to increase the LA too, by which point you've changed it to the point where you might consider making a variant article.
- As a couple pointers in writing race traits - I've never seen a race define a change to BAB, that's what racial classes are for - Same goes for non-specific increases to saving throws. A racial trait giving class skills is both pretty strong and should be explained on the trait description (as I've added) because it's pretty unstandard, I left it in for intimidate 'cause it makes plenty cool sense. And if you want to give a bonus to both HP and Fort Saves, you may as well just give a bonus to Constitution, which, especially considering he already has some, should be made pretty LA burdened. You clearly have good ideas up in that there head o' yours though, it's cool~ --SgtLion (talk) 09:59, 11 January 2014 (MST)
Hello, this is the IP that altered/added some stats; now with a username-PowerBuildPlus1. I'm am new to the wiki site, please forgive me for stepping on your toes if I did. Would it be ok if I used your half-ogre template as a template for a slightly different, perhaps a lvl adj +3, I would like to create? Also is there a way to add to the discussion without using the edit? Sorry for being a newbie to wiki. Little info about me: been gaming 22 years. I know a good bit of the game and the workings. --PowerBuildPlus1
- Hiya! Not at all a problem, an' yah didn't step on any toes, fear not - We very much encourage open editing of articles, just tryin' to keep 'em balanced at the same time~. If I were you I'd copy this article into a new one (an' call it Half-Ogre, Variant (3.5e Race) or something of the kind) and then do whatcha want. And unfortunately the only real way to talk on a wiki is by using the edit button, I agree it's a drag. Good to have someone with such experience hangin' about~ Feel free to ask 'bout anything. --SgtLion (talk) 15:24, 11 January 2014 (MST)
How do I go about asking you for help without "posting" it here under the half-ogre Discussion, where it doesn't/won't belong? PowerBuildPlus1
