Talk:Guillotine (5e Feat)
From D&D Wiki
Yes, I know this is a chain of feats. I can only say it's only two and the second mostly just expands on the effectiveness of the first, which can still be taken solo as dedicated niche buff. -Dondatis (OC) 7:30am EST 4/6/23
- For both this and Headsman--the fear effect needs a save, and should be worded with more specificity regarding range and target selection. Additionally, critical hits already deal double damage, so either Headsman's effect isn't doing anything and only Guillotine bumps your damage, or you're intending to "double your damage twice" (which, per D&D tradition, is done additively, so if a normal crit goes from 1d12 to 2d12, "doubling your crit damage" would take you to 3d12, not 4d12, and tripling your crit damage would take you to 4d12, not 6d12). I would make it explicit what you mean--something to the effect of "your crits deal triple/quadruple damage instead of double like they normally would" but with prettier wording. —Salasay ♄ 05:49, 6 April 2023 (MDT)
