Cool class but... Holy fudge this is overpowered. This is like two capstone abilities a level. Up to 40d6 breath weapon? Basically nonmagical versions of the highest level evocations at an hour of prep for 1d4+1? A ranged lance that deals double damage, and adds strength? A mount that has hit dice equal not to Golem-Knight level, but class levels? Armor that grants +15 and possibly more AC? This is an absurd amount of power in one tiny class. If this was a base class, and those abilities were spread across 20 levels... maybe. But for 5 levels? Absurd. Otherwise, a pretty well written, interesting class.
This is a TOME class...[edit]
It is balanced just fine for that system of rules. It is also a Prestige Class, which in Tome games tend to be about 5 levels long. It is most certainly NOT abandoned!
