That's kind of a simple answer. Subraces are a racial trait. When you choose "elf" from the PHB, one of the traits tells you to choose a subrace as well. This is now an additional option for those who choose to include this content in their games. --Kydo (talk) 17:37, 15 November 2016 (MST)

Dark Ice Clan

So, the Dark Ice clan gets a cantrip once per long rest? That's honestly not very good, at all. Just my personal thoughts, but, I think it'd be a better idea to just make the cantrip at will, similarly to the high elf's cantrip. --Blackbando (talk) 09:17, 8 December 2017 (MST)
