Gelugon / Ice Devil?[edit]
Although I admit that there is no good ice-related demon in the SRD, I have to think that a ritual starring a demon would be more conducive / appropriate to wreaking havoc, frenzy, and confusion. I'd think this would be precisely the outcome a devil would find distasteful.

- The lack of suitable ice-related demonry is, of course, notable, and I agree that a demon would be more fitting. You are more than welcome to create an ice-themed demon in the DnD Creatures portion of the site and then replace the Gelugon link with a link to that creature! I agree that a demon is more thematic. As is, the Frozen Ruin is not written so as to "star" the devil; it is primarily a physical representation of the metaphysical winter craziness and so-called "cabin fever" manifesting in a particularly twisted way. The devil was only added later to reinforce the theme of sexual wantonness and also winter-ness that accompanies this sort of phenomenon. Besides, a devil might find the utter inhibition distasteful, but it would certainly still delight in the damage done to the affected mortals' souls. –EldritchNumen 19:44, 3 December 2007 (MST)
- I missed the ‘cabin fever’ and ‘winter isolation’ aspect of this entirely. Probably because I live in a more temperate clime; it's good to know what sparked the general idea. I didn't think it starred the devil, it just seemed out of place. Perhaps there's really no need for an ice-themed demon; it seems like a generic hezrou would do, or perhaps just any demon from an icy abyssal plane. Roszlishan 12:37, 4 December 2007 (MST)
