Musicus Meter
Score: 6
This race has a score of 6 according to the Musicus Meter race guidelines. With this metric, first-party races' scores range from 4.5 to 8. This is a guideline, not a rule, and it's important to use your own judgment alongside this scoring.
This scoring may be the groundwork for a focused {{needsbalance}} usage. A contributor to this page may request a detailed breakdown of this page's balance. Without this information, {{needsbalance}} may then be removed. This meter cannot be the sole basis for a needsbalance template, but may be included as an accessory to a wider discussion of a race's balance.
This template should only be placed on a race's talk page. If this template is not placed on the talk page, please move it.

Hopefully I did the math right with this one, especially with the movement speed. Wasn't too sure how to grade Aberrant Nature, so I didn't mark it.

Originally this race had Draining Kiss, which read as follows:

"You are capable of draining the life essence of a humanoid creature that you kiss. As an action, you may kiss a single humanoid within 5 feet of you. The creature must make a Constitution saving throw take 2d6 psychic damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. You gain an amount of life equal to the damage dealt. The DC for this save equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before using it again."

I'm rather glad I changed my mind and got rid of it. Not only did I feel it didn't really suit Froslass (even though Froslass can learn Draining Kiss), but it would have undoubtedly make this race score about an 8. --MetalShadowOverlord (talk) 04:54, 17 March 2018 (MDT)

Good eye. We don't rate creature types in the Musicus Meter at the moment but as long as it also has the humanoid creature type we don't have to worry about certain unintended interactions. If you're curious about it I give a fairly good explanation of it on my user page, here. --ConcealedLight (talk) 07:35, 17 March 2018 (MDT)
I actually just stumbled upon that page while looking for some kind of rating for Hobgoblins, since I'm currently working on Bisharp as it's quite possibly the worst of all the races I've made (well, maybe not as OP as Tsareena, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there). also funny thing: I said I gave Aberrant Nature a 1 but never wrote it on the chart. --MetalShadowOverlord (talk) 15:39, 17 March 2018 (MDT)
