Talk:Floating Figment (5e Spell)

I have just now noticed after a more thorough that the spell has somatic components. On my first read, I had believed the point of this spell was to enable the caster to cast spells requiring a somatic component without having to sheathe or drop what they had on their hands; instead leaving it suspended in the air to be picked up. However, would this spell having a somatic component not prevent that from happening; requiring free hands in order to cast it in the first place; thus defeating the purpose? Have I misunderstood the intended use of the spell, is this an oversight, or have I misunderstood the rules of spellcasting in the first place? --Bhalandros (talk) 09:45, 15 October 2021 (MDT)
