The things we agreed on are backfire should be added on to a weapon attack, backfire needs to say it's a standard action, The spells need to be at the correct level, 1 damage per spell level cast, and either A. We drop any melee skills (aka base attack and that scimitar proficiency) B. We drop backfire C. We drop both or D. We come up with another idea to balance this class.Kuraku

I am going to take off backfire. In play testing, none of the players ever used it, and there are stronger spells that make up for it. Shadow of the Storm

I took off the rest of the Backfires. We defintely need something for Epic Levels, some Epic Feats and/or something like that. Epic Levels are looking pretty bare! Shadow of the Storm 7:38, 9 December 2010 (PST)

Yeah, you should look at the Epic Feats and pick out the ones you like. Then give the fireblade bonus feats every couple of levels.Kuraku 07:33, 10 December 2010 (MST)

Handle Fire?

Wouldn't you want a type of perform? Maybe Perform (Fire Dance)?

And on that note would Knowledge (the elemental forces) be better as Knowledge )the Planes? Kuraku

Power - 3/5 I give this class a 3 out of 5 because the Fireblades Backfire ability can become quite powerful as can it's Flashfire ability. However both of those abilities are quite dangerous to the user, even after he becomes immune to fire, and Flashfire is dangerous to nearby allies also and that makes him a major liability for his party. This should be prestige class

Too way specific to be base class.
