Flight[edit]
Giving a race unlimited Heroic level flight is extremly unbalanced. Flight is, at best, an Epic level power and gives them an unfair advantage over every other race available. When creating a race you want to balance it against all other available races, no one race should outstrip all others in such a basic way. Terrain conditions, hazards, and most monsters (among many many other things) do not account for flying PCs at such a low level and in that way give Players who have such a power an unfair edge over not only DM adversaries but over the other PCs as well (even if they don't see it). For these basic (and as I said many many more) reasons WotC has restricted flight to Epic level characters (they aren't "scared" of it, unlimited flight is unbalanced when placed against all other races). Even if a DM feels they can "handle" low-level flying PCs they are doing a horrible disservice to all the other Players who do not wish to play this race by granting an Epic level power to Heroic level characters. Although you may be able to balance this by stating this is a campaign setting specific race, and that all other non-flying races in the setting gain a bonus Feat at time of creation in order to compensate for the distinct and unfair advantage flying gives this race. Still in order to keep this as a race all can use; their wings should perhaps grant a bonus to Jump with additional feats eventually granting limited then full flight at Epic levels. -- Sepsis 15:33, 4 March 2009 (MST)
- Great job on the reworked "flight", I like it. Maybe you could throw in some Paragon Feats that will actually let them get fly movement sometime after 16th level. -- Sepsis 06:33, 27 April 2009 (MDT)
Details...Details...Details[edit]
This race still needs a ton of fluff, and to have its mechanics looked over better for balance reasons. At the moment this is little more then a collection of stats, without any frame of refference. -- Sepsis 15:33, 4 March 2009 (MST)
A Few Things[edit]
- Height/Weight: Are they supposed to be so thin and lanky?
- Speed: An 8 speed is off the charts. 7 is a very fast speed for a PC race, you might want to drop this to 6 or 7 and allow for a racial feat that might boost it to 8.
- Languages: Supernal is a no-no language for starting characters, it must be earned through a Feat. Also bear in mind that at Heroic levels it will not have much practical use for the Player. Maybe "another of your choice" would be better.
- Dominating Flame: This trait is way OP. You basically are giving them 5 free powers and granting a to-hit and damage bonus to them (and other powers they may have with that keyword). Maybe one 1st level power at time of creation, or a +1 bonus to damage when using powers with the fire keyword. But not both...or any more.
- Body of Flame: Resisting fire is fine, but you should never include a penalty in racial traits, and never try to "balance" with a negative in 4e either.
- Fluff: Its nice that there is some, but at the moment it reads very clumsy. It is almost like I'm getting a ton of random information rushed by real fast. You may want to make it briefer and more concise. Also don't neglect the Playing a Fhondi section it never hurts to give some RP notes for the Players.

Deletion[edit]
This race looks very cool, I will be bringing it up to standards while it may still be the minimum standards: I will do my best on the fluff. I will update this post when I believe I am done, afterward leave a comment for other changes wanted or needed. And uh... don't delete it :) --Medix (talk) 10:08, 11 March 2020 (MDT)
