Reincarnation

I've started to come to the understanding that you seem to only skim things when you review them. If you read the Reincarnation trait the whole way through, you would have noticed that I intentionally limited it to a one-time use, ever. A fairy only gets to scoff in the face of death exactly one time, and then they can never do it again. After that, they can be killed off. Furthermore, I worded it so that they must choose to activate it when they drop to 0 hit points; if they don't use it exactly then, they can still die from failing death saves or from a coup-de-grace. - Alice-chan (talk) 08:01, 23 November 2018 (MST)

Avoid the uncivil commentary when editors go to efforts to review your work. The "get out of jail card" trait is still questionable here given the total strength of the other traits it receives and the non standard nature of the single-use trait. The trait in effect allows the use of a 9th level spell freely with the only downside being a few weeks off. Reworking the trait to be something like the half-orc's relentless endurance or something like "When you would fail a death saving throw you can instead succeed." on a long rest recharge, would probably be best here. —ConcealedLight (talk) 08:55, 23 November 2018 (MST)

Also, sorry for the aggression. It's alright. I certainly don't try to review every race on the site for my own health, haha. You apologizing is definitely a lot nicer than most responses people have so thanks for continuing to put in the effort. Lifespan & Creature Types

I've given them the lifespan they have intentionally: being literal manifestations of nature itself, they will exist for as long as nature does. As the copyright disclaimer proves, this race is based on a source material, and in this source material, fairies do indeed live forever. However, also in this source material, they always come back when killed, which I've nerfed for this race (see the above topic). Furthermore, I decided against humanoid type, and gave them the elemental type, because - again - they're literal manifestations of nature's essence. They're basically to the very core of nature as elementals are to the elemental chaos. I could tack on the humanoid type if that helps anything, but I'm going to keep both fey and elemental. - Alice-chan (talk) 08:09, 23 November 2018 (MST)

The Feywild's and the fey are the manifestations of nature/life in dnd so the elemental type doesn't make much sense here. The humanoid creature type was needed in order to stop a player from being immune to a variety of low and medium level spells that specifically target humanoids. —ConcealedLight (talk) 08:55, 23 November 2018 (MST)

I personally see this a little differently than fey, as fey seem to be creatures that are closely related to nature, but this race is basically creatures that are nature itself. All in all, because of this, I see the relation as something similar to how a fire elemental is a direct embodiment of fire (and as an example, a light fairy is a direct embodiment of light in nature). - Alice-chan (talk) 09:20, 23 November 2018 (MST)

Well, at least we can agree to disagree here. Really, until I get some strong evidence that calling them elementals is wrong, I'll be keeping the creature type on these fairies. Considering the presence of the ice and fire subraces (and just today my addition of the optional storm supplement), I feel there's at least enough grounds to argue for the elemental type. - Alice-chan (talk) 10:54, 23 November 2018 (MST)
