Talk:Earth Shatter (5e Spell)
From D&D Wiki
This is less of a spell about 'shattering earth' and more of a giant angry lightning wave. I propose a name change. --Nuke The Earth (talk) 20:48, 3 December 2020 (MST)
- I concur. I believe something along the lines of Thunderous Wave should work, but am open to other suggestions.--Blobby383b (talk) 13:57, 4 December 2020 (MST)
- Thunderwave is already taken, though the theme is certainly on point. I'm not sure what a good name would be, though. I'd also like to mention that this spell is still very powerful for its level - a total of 15d6 on a multiple-target spell, even one that negates damage on a save, is more in the realm of 7th-level stuff, according to the 5e Spell Design guideline page. Additionally, since the spell makes use of lightning, I believe the force damage could stand to be swapped to lightning.
I have a slight inkling on how I might rework things, but nothing concrete yet. I'll let it stew a while and see what comes of it. --Nuke The Earth (talk) 14:10, 4 December 2020 (MST)
