I actually disagree with the templates on this one.
1. The stat boosts are comparable to Human or Half Elf
2. While getting some good cantrips and spells at 3rd level, this race also costs more to keep well armored, helping to balance it.
3. Based on the fact that the author wrote out History, Society, and Physical Description, you can't say it's "wholly lacking in flavor" just because the author threw in a cute saying.
4. None of the cantrips or spells are overpowered at the start/ 3rd level.
5. The author wrote in more subraces than I have seen in any other races. This helps to both personalize and diversify the race. (I currently forget how to sign. I'm SansGenocide)
- It is '~~~~'. It's also on your user pages talk in your welcome message. I will point out the issue with each of your concerns one by one.
- Humans get +6 ASI and nothing else if you took off two of those that don't give them an addition 7 traits on top of this. Half-Elves get a +4 ASI with 3 minor traits and an extra language. So I don't see the validity of your point.
- A slightly increased armour cost doesn't make up for their innate spellcasting if anything it is a minor detriment that in most campaigns serves as a minor inconvenience in the first level or two at best.
- I can and I have. A few lines of vague lore that barely covers the many aspects of an entire race is considered to be wholly lacking. Comparing it to any first party material with races or the standard encouraged within the 5e Race Design Guide or some of the backgrounds you've worked on and you'll reach the same conclusion. In addition, pages shouldn't include personal messages, read the Help Pages.
- I have made no specifics comments about the cantrips or spells, however, like most the page they require referencing since Shenanigan and Glacial Crash are not in any first party book.
- You clearly haven't looked at the races much. Most the dragon-based races have several and while quantity is always nice quality, flavour and originality are more sought after, something that is lacking here. No detail about why and how each of the subraces is different or why each can cast different spells is given and giving all of them the same combination of a +1 ASI, Innate casting and a skill proficiency is not very interesting or diverse.
