Short Summary[edit]

Can you give an example of the short summary you are wanting on the page? I may be misunderstanding what you are wanting to do. ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 09:21, 3 December 2018 (MST)

What I'm trying to do add the summary on the dragonknight class on the class page. I'm trying to add some text there to catch some eyes and perhaps have some feedback from people that use the class.(My group and I use the class, but I have a feeling they're biased cause I'm always the DM)--Cadezka (talk) 09:50, 3 December 2018 (MST)

I think I just figured it out. I must have accidentally deleted the summary option in the creation process. I feel like I'm currently rocking an intelligence of -8 --Cadezka (talk) 09:59, 3 December 2018 (MST)

Thought I found it.... apparently I didn’t:(--Cadezka (talk) 10:27, 3 December 2018 (MST)

You found the right spot for the summary, but the symbols around the text exclude the text. So I removed and they will now show up, but they only show up on the list of classes when you visit the 5e Class Page. Was that your intent only, or were you hoping the information you show up more or somewhere else? ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 11:34, 3 December 2018 (MST)

No, that was it, I really appreciate your help :)--Cadezka (talk) 12:16, 3 December 2018 (MST)

Yeah no problem dude :) ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 13:25, 3 December 2018 (MST).

May 2019 feedback[edit]

Let's look at dragon armor first. There are some things that need explicitly stating

  • How is the option applied? A bonus action? An action? A 10 minute ritual?
  • Do you have to be wearing some armor?
  • Once some armor is protected with this feature, can I give it to someone else to wear?
  • Don't use "per long rest".
  • Better wording needed overall. Considering the above, perhaps "You can use your action to apply draconic protection to a suit of armor you are wearing. When you use this feature, choose one of the following options. The protection lasts for 1 hour, or until you remove the armor or you use this feature again. You can apply draconic protection twice, and regain these uses when you finish a long rest. When you reach 4th level in this class you can use this feature four times between rests. " Marasmusine (talk) 05:26, 3 May 2019 (MDT)

Onto the protections themselves.

  • There's a "Save" column but this isn't explained. I will have to guess:
  • So, for Black protection, each time an enemy makes a melee attack against you, that enemy must make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or take 1d8 acid damage, is that correct?
  • The DC should be 8 + your proficiency bonus + your <some ability score> modifier, like every other class feature in the game.
  • This adds a lot of extra rolling, since the PC can be expected to be the target many melee attacks per round over the course of an hour.
  • Note that the PC doesn't even need to be hit, and there's no range limit. A giant could attack and miss from 20 feet away, and they are still splashed with acid.
  • Electro-shock compounds the problems even further. Not only are you making an extra saving throw roll for every melee attack made against the PC, that enemy must make additional saving throws at least once on their turn, with apparently no upper limit as "periodically" isn't defined, and with no end to the effect. On each of these unlimited saving throws on a fail they make another saving throw. With multiple enemies this is dozens upon dozens of extra rolls, bringing combat pace to a crawl.

So I'm not far into the class, and I'm already getting bogged down with stuff that needs fixing. Marasmusine (talk) 05:41, 3 May 2019 (MDT)
