Let's Be Dragons[edit]

Alright, this is my first homebrew creation. I've been working on this one for awhile. As soon as I saw how bad the class was in the PHB2, I decided to adopt it, fix its problems and send it out into the world, reborn! There's another reboot of this class floating around the internet, but it had a greater focus on melee combat than it did on the auras. If you have any questions about what I've changed or why I changed it, just ask! As anyone who fixes up cars can tell you, half of the fun of fixing something up is telling other people how you did it. -Dr. Seymour 16:27, 18 December 2011 (MST)

Potential Problems[edit]

Because no one has yet to take an interest in my class, I've decided to come up with a list of foreseeable problems that will be brought up. -Dr. Seymour 21:38, 11 January 2012 (MST)

Vigor
Problem: Currently, this aura's greatest effect is to provide instant ranged first aid to characters in the negatives. Potentially, any character within range of the dragon shaman's aura.
Solution: The DM is very needed here. Whatever the DM decides is the definition of ally is going to be the only restriction I would place upon this aura. Is it as good as a healing class? No. Is it very useful in combat? Nuh-uh. A party that stays away from civilization would only use it as a form of rest between encounters. In civilization, its only further ability is to help wake up unconscious people or heal victims of attacks.
Bonuses
Problem: What type are the bonuses? That could be a make or break for the class. I have not a clue how I decide what kind of types they all are. If I make them stack with magic, then that could easily be abused. But, if they do not stack with magic, then there would be no reason to use the auras; magic can provide better bonuses at each level.
Solution?
Epic Levels
Problem: I really have no idea how the epic levels should be done; I did not work much on them
Solution?
Copyrights
Problem: I am pretty sure that I may have to change the name of the class so that it does not infringe on copyrights.

My name is ShadowWolf. I am currently DMing a campaign with one very experienced player and a few not-so experienced players. He typically plays as a spell caster and as such, he knows some ins and outs of breaking classes. He requested to be a half-dragon with a dragon shaman class. I had no problem with this because it would make sense. In addition he requested to use a few levels in Paladin. His totem is a platinum dragon, he is half gold dragon, and his deity is Bahamut. He is a level 4 and pretty much a young dragon in terms of bite, claw, and breath attacks. Warning, the class gets very broken with half dragons.

Messages[edit]

A little late finding your thread, but where does dragon ascension come from? Nowhere in the PHBII. Ravencroft0 (talk) 23:11, 3 February 2013 (MST)
It does not, true. I went looking for a dragon shaman reboot before I started this and found a nice one on the Brilliant Gameologist boards. That reboot is where I took the idea of turning into a dragon at 20th level from. I liked the reboot but I felt the class needed changing even further (everyone and their opinion). Rating[edit]

Balance - 4/5 I give this class a 4 out of 5 because I dont know a whole lot about balance in 3.5 so I won't put neither a bad score or a superb score there. --212.37.154.181 13:32, 29 April 2014 (MDT)

Wording - 4/5 I give this class a 4 out of 5 because it was pretty dang good written. There are points where the meaning gets a little blurry etc, but over-all it was very well written and phrased! --212.37.154.181 13:32, 29 April 2014 (MDT)

Formatting - 5/5 I give this class a X out of 5 because it was well formatted and easy to get around in. --212.37.154.181 13:32, 29 April 2014 (MDT)

Flavor - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because it is a fantastic idea and though I will not use this class in my own campaign, I will probably draw inspiration to making a "Dragon Knight" or "Dragon-Soul"-class. Thanks!!! --212.37.154.181 13:32, 29 April 2014 (MDT)
