Talk:Draconic Warrior (5e Subclass)
why is this not balance you have to pick one, you dont get all of them. I could see if you got all of them but you don't it says "you fill the mantle of the Dragonknight, and gain one of the following abilitie"--Lord Survival (talk) 17:21, 17 April 2018 (MDT)
I feel like this subclass needs to mention that it requires a race that is NOT Dragonborn since you get feature comparable to their race, which wouldn't make much sense for one of them to be a draconic warrior. (Rogillar) 22:28, 13 October 2018 (EST)
- Not really. You can only use the trait and this subclass's feature on short rest. so you do benefit from it still as a dragonborn. BigShotFancyMan (talk) 20:32, 13 October 2018 (MDT)
If it doesn't exclude Dragonborn then it needs to be worded for such, especially since you can't pick another ancestry when you are a Dragonborn separately and Dragonborns already have scales and such that is said to be gained under this subclass. (Rogillar) 22:44, 13 October 2018 (EST)
- Sure, some clarity could be added. Let's see what can be done.... :) BigShotFancyMan (talk) 20:47, 13 October 2018 (MDT)
- Hey, lemme know what you think or add some to it if you think more should be said. I kinda like it and makes me want to play this combo even. :) BigShotFancyMan (talk) 21:00, 13 October 2018 (MDT)
The only other problems I would note: The Breath Weapon scales really hard with 1d6 every 2 levels from 3rd compared to the racial counterpart(Which is weaker in comparison), The strength of taking the Dragon Wings feat as a Dragonborn is weakened being able to have it with this class. The only other suggestion I would have is making the DC Save range for Polymorph easier for Dragonborn to change into something they are inherently. (Rogillar) 23:20, 13 October 2018 (EST)
- For me I don't draw issues with the BW because for dragonborn is scaled vs races and this is scaled with classes/subclasses. Is the feat in Xanathar's? BigShotFancyMan (talk) 22:02, 13 October 2018 (MDT)

Credit to RegolithTheFox, a close friend for the idea of the Dragon Knight. Although the idea has been in my head for some time, seeing his version influenced me to type up my own, borrowing a couple ideas of his, but still taking it in a slightly different direction. D'Artagnan 20:49, 28 March 2016
