Talk:Double Cantrip (3.5e Spell)

Not April Fools[edit]
This spell is not an April Fools spell. If you read what the Free Spell subschool does, you will see that it allows you to cast a spell of equal level or lower as part of the casting of this spell. This spell allows you for the price of one cantrip to cast two cantrips at once. So it costs three cantrips total. Seems balanced to me. --Aarnott 20:54, 7 April 2008 (MDT)
- Aha, I misread it. I thought all it allowed you to do was cast another cantrip in addition to this one. So only 2. My mistake. --Calidore Chase 21:01, 7 April 2008 (MDT)
- At level 0, I agree, it is balanced. However, if this line of spells continues as such... a quickened level 4 spell for another level 4 spell? That doesn't sound right :-\ However, let's wait and see what the other spells look like before giving a full judging :-) --Ghostwheel 13:31, 30 July 2009 (MDT)
- Really, the "Free Spell" subschool was an interesting idea, but I couldn't figure out good spells for higher levels. I remember I was planning on making Free Spells be almost like metamagic, but burn spell slots instead. So a 3rd level free spell might give +1 energy damage per die (of an energy damage spell like fireball) and change the energy type to acid or cold. I'm going to scrap the spell school and just change the wording of this spell to still work the same way. --Aarnott 09:34, 31 July 2009 (MDT)
