Talk:Dino Rider (5e Class)

  • Since dinosaurs are in the Monster Manual, its assumed that they are in vanilla D&D campaigns, so you don't need "Note 1".
  • Have one common save and one uncommon save, rather than two common saves.
  • There's information on the actual dinosaur companion. Obviously you can't just pluck out one of the dinosaurs from the Monster Manual as a constant companion, as their CR is too high, nor is the companion's behaviour described.
  • If I pick a dinosaur of a size that allows it to accompany me anywhere, from level 3 I have advantage on all types of attack roll, all the time.
  • Might. How long does the AC bonus last for?
  • Link to 5e SRD:Speak with Animals rather than copying it. Same for hunter's mark.
  • What is a "survivor check"? Marasmusine (talk) 06:35, 25 May 2018 (MDT)

  • Not all setting or DMs will allow for dinosaur in game. It's just good practice to ask the DM first.
  • So how is that an issue?
  • Where is this info? I can't find it. Plucking out a Dino from the Monster Manual was my idea. It's why you need DMs approval. Also not a Companion it's a mount. It's behavior fixed.
  • As long as the Dino is 10 feet from you.
  • Fixed
  • Nope I am keep the copy I have down.
  • Fixed

  • This class's starting equipment is cheaper than the Fighter's, but its starting wealth is higher.
  • The name Polearm Master could be confusing, as their is a feat by that name.
  • I would expect a class other than the Fighter to only get 1 or 2 uses of Indomitable.
  • I'm a bit confused about the 18th level feature. Is it every time, or only once.
  • I find it unusual that Throw Master gives an Ability Score Increase. Most PHB classes (not counting the Fighter) only get Ability Scores at 4, 8, 12, 16, 19.
  • I agree with Marusmine, all classes in the PHB have one common and one uncommon save.
  • I agree with Marusmine, advantage is normally harder to get. For example, the Faerie Fire spell requires the target to fail the save, then the caster must maintain concentration, and casting it consumes spell slots.
