Talk:Deletion Candidates
From D&D Wiki
Why does the "Date Template added" column organize articles by the minute they've been nominated rather than by the day? Seems a bit counter-intuitive... 2602:306:3317:2900:EDC2:BE44:CF58:4001 05:40, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
- It orders it alphanumerically, looking at the first field of the deletion template. We've been using the ~~~~~ timestamp for that field. It doesn't matter a great deal to me, when I assess these it's easy enough to find the dates I need (today I would check everything dated 18th April or earlier) Marasmusine (talk) 07:45, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
File deletions[edit]
I decided to check in here since I have added quite a few images for deletion using the template lately, but I noticed that it doesn't format correctly on the table. I was worried that I had forgotten to add the time and date on a bunch of them, but that is not the case. Should I be doing something different when I put the delete template on a file? I suspect that the template just wasn't designed to be used with files and either needs to be updated or a different template needs to be used. --PJammaz (talk) 17:10, 14 March 2020 (MDT)
- After looking into this for a while, I don't know. I got it to partially work by changing file links to external links, but this breaks on file names with spaces in their titles. I think the issue is that when you write "[[File:", the wiki expects to show a file, so the table row breaks after that. Making a "files with delete templates" table won't change that behavior. I think Blue Dragon is the one that could help? Coaldstone (talk) 21:38, 15 March 2020 (MDT)
- I fixed it. In my opinion I could probably do it better, but I'm very tired and what I did works. Not much I can do for the other one though. Yeah, the wiki is a little bit of a mess. --ZarHakkar (talk) 05:45, 24 June 2020 (MDT)
