Talk:Deft Aegis (5e Feat)
Well... Using the donning and doffing rules (and I should alter the wording to reflect this), it's an action to put on or take off a shield. This would make it easier to swap it around, just like a weapon. Normally, yes, a person couldn't manipulate a shield grip and hold something in their hand, but this represents training to, say, hold a potion bottle or torch handle against the shield's grip, or popping that hand out of the grip just long enough to refill a hand crossbow or sling before popping it back in. As for the prerequisite... you're right. Shield Master, inexplicably, does *not* require proficiency in shields. Removing, despite personal misgivings, due to the precedent this sets. --SpectralTime (talk) 06:08, 2 March 2017 (MST)
- Sorry, I was looking at sheathing and drawing a sword, you're right. Marasmusine (talk) 06:32, 2 March 2017 (MST)
- Regarding the prerequisite, it's to do with the 5e philosophy of feats being as inclusive as possible.[1] (to the point that in some cases, what would be considered a prerequisite could actually be bundled in with the feat) Marasmusine (talk) 06:38, 2 March 2017 (MST)
