Spells and BAB[edit]
Is this supposed to go up to 8th level spells only? And is the BAB supposed to be weaker-than-poor? Same goes for the saves...what on earth is going on there? Surgo 10:36, 21 April 2009 (MDT)
- Still working on it. Avlindrel 1:16, April 21st 2009
- Well, it does say "ready for review" -- I assumed that meant that this sort of thing was finished. Surgo 16:12, 21 April 2009 (MDT)
- Surgo, I find your comments to be quite annoying, to be honest. You offer no real critiques, and just generally debase whatever I post. If you want to help, please be more specific with your posts, but otherwise refrain from posting short little sentences worth of mockery. Avlindrel 21:30, 21 April 2009 (MDT)
- I was actually trying to be nice about it, instead of saying "This is wrong, fix it". Should I not try next time? Here's some more specifics:
- Your BAB is not one of the three standards. Fix it by making it one of the three standards.
- Your saves are not one of the two standards. Fix it by making them one of the two standards.
- I'm not sure how "is this supposed to work this way?" is debasing, but I guess if people find my attempts to be nice such...I'll just stop trying to be nice. If you don't want simple critiques like "are these numbers supposed to be this way?" maybe you shouldn't put "ready for review" as the status of your class. Surgo 21:47, 21 April 2009 (MDT)
- I was actually trying to be nice about it, instead of saying "This is wrong, fix it". Should I not try next time? Here's some more specifics:
- I follow the writer's process, I finish it, then I put it as "Ready for Review." This doesn't make it the complete project, it just means it's ready to see what people think of it, see what's wrong or where the numbers are wrong like you have found, and then be edited to suit. But, given that you've -actually- pointed out what was wrong this time, I can actually call your comments constructive. I'm going to have to run the numbers on the BAB and Saves, as I based them on two different classes. P.S: If those are your attempts to be nice, you must need a vacation. I suggest a trip to the beach, I find the ocean soothing personally. Avlindrel 11:59, 22 April 2009 (MDT)
- If you would have tried to answer Surgo's comments you would have seen what he was talking about... --Green Dragon 12:14, 22 April 2009 (MDT)
I find myself sad to have to point out that the point of this section is to describe things that you feel about the class. A singular sentence ridiculing the article without specifically stating what needs to be fixed does not, in my opinion, deserve any further note than the one I placed. If I had a problem with an article, I would carefully construct something to assist the author with the problem I have with it, and therefore I'd like the same courtesy. But, if "WTF? THIS IS WRONG." will slide here, I suppose that's how things work. - Avlindrel 6:28 PM April 22, 2009 (CST)
- I wrote three sentences, not one, and in those three I described exactly what I found weird with the class. Are you saying that you'd rather be ignorant of when something is wrong with the class when the person telling you about it isn't nice or, in your opinion, constructive, than know that something is wrong and fix it?
- On that note, the BAB and saves are still a little weird. What kind of BAB do you want this class to have, exactly? Poor? Same goes for the saves. I'll edit in the proper numbers, if I know what they are. Surgo 17:32, 22 April 2009 (MDT)
- Well, Avlindrel, please try and approach comments on the talk page for a page you made with an open mind. Some people may rub you the wrong way in the manner they present their help, but please try to see the help they offer, instead of getting hanged up on how they offer it. → Rith (talk) 18:14, 22 April 2009 (MDT)
- The BAB, and the saves (Save for Will) are to be low, the Will save is supposed to be Good, while the others are Poor, as spell-casters tend to be.
- I fixed the BAB and the saves, as well as your table. Surgo 19:13, 22 April 2009 (MDT)
Just Pointing a Few Things Out[edit]
Does having access to Sorcerer/Wizard spells and Cleric spells within the deity's domains plus Cure/Inflict wounds justify not gaining bonus spells based on high ability scores? Considering the lack of non-magic combat abilities and the relatively low number of Spells per day at each Spell level, the lack of bonus spells cause a Daughter to run out of spells faster than a Wizard does. Also, it isn't stated whether spells are prepared or cast spontaneously. --Nothing
