Talk:Dark Aberration (5e Race)

Some traits were worded incorrectly and the addition of subraces didn't add anything interesting to the race and was largely unbalance comparatively to each other as well as the main race. I've fixed up the traits and removed the subraces as such. However, this race is still lacking in lore and flavor. Reading the 5e_Race_Design_Guide should help give you an idea of how to write such lore. In addition, the race as it stands is too strong for typical play. Here are something to think about in regards to balancing:

  1. 40ft of movement speed is a lot.
  2. They are understandably good at grappling to the point of being too good if this was all the race had it would be debatable but as it stands it's too much.
  3. Dilution is a neat trait but could use better wording
  4. Removing some of the smaller traits in favor of this races main trait would be a good idea

Finally, consider changing the name of this race to something like Dark Ooze as there is nothing here that makes them aberrant.
