The spell now deals the same damage as flaming sphere, and I think losing the ability to ram into creatures for damage is a good trade-off for this spell's increased radius and initial blindness effect. As of now I think it's decently balanced. Garghello (talk) 15:33, 17 November 2020 (MST)

Looks better, I think, apart from the fact that flaming sphere allows a save against its per-round damage and this one doesn't. My initial feeling is that the save ought to negate damage, to somewhat compensate for its greatly increased radius. A 5-foot radius covers only 8 squares, a 20-foot radius covers slightly more than 50. Honestly, it might fit better as a 3rd-level spell - its only balancing factor seems to be that your allies would take the damage too if you dropped it on them. --Nuke The Earth (talk) 16:11, 17 November 2020 (MST)
