Talk:Circle of Plants (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
I would change the sub-variants of this subclass to something more flavorful than Offense and Defense. Possibly Oaken Defense and Vines' Offense
Powerful Spells is quite specific and niche.
Advanced Shaping favors defense and is OP. A full caster at 6th level would only be able to polymorph themselves into a CR 6 or below beast. This druid is able to turn themselves into a CR 9 Plant(CR 9 is above the max CR for beasts anyway, T-Rex being CR 8). Plus, they retain their mental ability scores, which far outweighs polymorph. Consider swapping the 6th and 10th level abilities.

Howdy!
I noticed that the requested edits hadn't been done in almost 4 years since the ask, so I assume the creator has abandoned the page. I've taken the liberty to divide the two paths into "totems" (Oak and Thorn), divide the capstone ability into two options for those totems (this might need to be rebalanced), and swap the 6th and 10th level abilities as requested.
If these changes are satisfactory for now, I'm thinking about possibly adding more totem options focused on other aspects (ie. speed) and with other advanced shapes. I may also add language into the subclass allowing a few plant-like creatures that aren't technically of the plant type (ie. dryads).
In any case, I will be adding a list of Circle Spells since this subclass doesn't have any for some reason.
Update: After implementing the suggested exchange between the 6th and 10th level abilities, the 10th level ability was no longer useful due to the standard plant wild shape options already being just as powerful as one of the options (and with the other option eventually being surpassed so as not to be useful). I tried to make the 10th level ability actually useful by having it raise the accessible CR of shapes by a flat number; I also clarified the way the secondary part of this ability works since it was written in a vague way.
