Talk:Child of a War Deity (5e Background)
From D&D Wiki
I like the Demigod concept, the name seems to be a little to campaign specific for my liking. --Redrum 18:52, 28 September 2016 (MDT)
- The DMG does kind of encourage that though. We can't really fault him for it. Besides, it's easy enough to rename Ares as just about any other war-god. I would complain about the explicit weapon being given out, but it's perfectly thematic. Maybe require that the wepon look different, like being a cosmetically unique version of a standard weapon. For example, say the player chooses a sword, they could then describe that their sword looks like a large sharpened eagle's talon, or a club could look like an arm and fist carved from wood. That would make the weapon into a roleplaying item as well, giving it more justification. --Kydo (talk) 15:31, 30 September 2016 (MDT)
