Talk:Ceremonial Dagger (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Is something going to be added to this weapon? At the moment, it's just an ordinary +1 weapon, except it has legendary rarity. SirSprinkles (talk) 18:18, 10 November 2021 (MST)
Sorry I mistyped something on the page so the features didn’t show up. It should be fixed now. - Killer Queen Over Heaven
- The type of killed creature that can spawn more daggers should be limited to those that leave remains. I suggest limiting it to humanoids and beasts as these are the only types that are guaranteed to leave remains.
- It should be clearer where the new daggers appear. They simultaneously "spawn from the remains" and "float around" the attuned creature, these might be different locations.
- Text should be in second person. "You" *is* the attuned creature.
- "Hostile creature" is redundant. Try "When a creature moves within 60 feet of you, you can use your reaction to make a ranged attack with each floating ceremonial dagger against that creature."
- I don't think "maximum damage" is justified (which would be a flat 16 damage), the additional damage is good enough. Marasmusine (talk) 01:42, 11 November 2021 (MST)
- One more: you don't need to specify it is magical damage, as it is already defined as a magical weapon. I am also worried that the 2d8 damage will not be balanced, as class features and feats that interact with daggers assume that they deal 1d4 damage. On average 2d8 deals four times the amount of damage. Marasmusine (talk) 01:44, 11 November 2021 (MST)
Thanks for the suggestions regarding this item! I wanted to overall keep the vibe of using these in Risk of Rain 2 so these adjustments might not be exactly what you had written. Hopefully this fixes a few errors with the item. - Killer Queen Over Heaven
