Talk:Bracelet of Shielding (3.5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Pricing[edit]
For a simple continuous item or use-activated item the pricing is (Spell level × caster level × 2,000 gp) and then multiply that by 2 because the duration of shield is minute per level, that would make the base cost of this item (1x1x2,000x2=4000) It also doesn't fit the body slot affinity for bracelets (which is Allies) so the price should be multiplied by 1.5 making it 6,000gp. If you wanted to make it only useable 3 times per day you would multiply the cost by 3/5 which would be 3,600 GP with each use only lasting a minute, raising the length of time each use would last would require raising the caster level which would increase the price - but the bonuses from the shield would remain the same regardless. --Calidore Chase (talk) 11:16, 5 April 2015 (MDT)
- I based the prices off of the Bracers of Armor, which costs half of the prices of this item. What slot would fit the affinity? --Salasay Δ?
- Here is the affinity table. Ah hell, I made a msitake. AC bonus falls under a different pricing category! That's what I get for looking at this stuff while working a 24 hour shift!. So Armor Bonuses are bonus squared * 1,000. But it appears you are also utilizing the mechanics of the spell rather than creating a pure AC bonus item so the price would have to be increased a little bit.... meh, I take it back, the pricing is probably fine. Though creating an item that casts shield on you would be quite a bit cheaper.... --Calidore Chase (talk) 11:37, 5 April 2015 (MDT)
