Boons should not just suddenly make you the leader of some organization, and it doesn't make sense for you to suddenly become the leader of an organization overnight. No-where does it say you become the leader overnight. Boons are awarded by the DM. In this case, it could be awarded to a character who has been working hard at a profession and has been gaining renown over time.

Ideally there is an element of storytelling to every reward, as recommended in the DMG.

If organizational positions were entirely role-play rather than reward-based we wouldn't have optional systems for rank and renown. Marasmusine (talk) 06:54, 17 April 2018 (MDT)
