Talk:Blood Drinker (3.5e Equipment)

Basically, I made this weapon so that Blood Elves, and a few other classes that can survive off blood can do so more easily, flasks are cheap and hell you can reuse them after ya drain them. Sevant 06:51, 3 October 2009 (MDT)

Blade?[edit]

I take it this is some sort of scimitar, perhaps a longsword? Also, according to "Hinghofer-Szalkay, H.G. and Greenleaf, J.E. Continuous monitoring of blood volume changes in humans. Journal of Applied Physiology. Vol. 63 (1987): 1003-7." Human blood has a density of 1043–1057 kg/m3 (which is 1.08 lbs/pint). Naturally, I can't speak for the blood density of fantasy creatures (Elves, would by my best guess, have a lower density blood) but it seems rather unlikely that the difference would be very significant. So either a small blood drinker can hold 3 pints of blood, or I would consider changing the filled weight of these weapons. Vials in the PHB are pint flasks, to my best recollection. Also, I doubt many players are as nit-picky as my players are, so you probably can just ignore this message. --Badger 15:35, 4 October 2009 (MDT)
