Rating[edit]

Power - 1/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because of the Martial Prowess class feature. At level 20, this character would have a base attack bonus of 20 alongside his +20 from martial prowess, as well as an additional 20 damage per hit. Nothing less than a natural one would miss. This, coupled with the free +5 ac and the ability to never provoke attacks of opportunity makes the class both impossible to miss and impossible to hit. It's power is exceptional, but much too over powered. I suggest lessening both the martial prowess bonuses to 15 and the base attack bonuses to 10. This would make the class have a much different feel with less frequent, but more precise and intense attacks.--Redraine (talk) 04:34, 10 May 2012 (MDT)

I'd like to point out a rating of 5 means it's perfect. If you think it's too strong, or weak, and you have a suggestion to make it better, by definition, it isn't a 5. --12:45, 10 May 2012 (MDT)
Yeah, you're right. I thought the 5 stood for how powerful the character is. Thanks.

Wording - 3/5 I give this class a 0 out of 5 because the strong, but vague, descriptors of the class features. --Redraine (talk) 04:34, 10 May 2012 (MDT)

Formatting - 3/5 I give this class a 3 out of 5 because while the formatting seemed standard in explanation, the main level progression just seems cluttered. --Redraine (talk) 04:34, 10 May 2012 (MDT)

Flavor - 0/5 I give this class a 0 out of 5 because the class as a whole is much too unbalanced to put into fair play. They took a play on the fighter class, but, as well as the free feats, added ridiculous amounts of attack and damage bonuses. Furthermore, the negatives of a fighter were lessened with the increase base skill points and increased amount of skills available. --Redraine (talk) 04:34, 10 May 2012 (MDT)

Balance has nothing to do with flavor, this concern should probably be placed under power instead. --Ganre (talk) 12:45, 10 May 2012 (MDT)
There is actually a reason for the power of this class. After having an SRD fighter in a party i was the DM for, I found that more and more i couldn't give challenges for the party that the fighter didn't feel useless against. This is simply the power boost that i gave him so that he continued to be useful into the high levels of play. The idea of this class isn't to balance with the fighter but to replace it. I also felt that it was reasonable that someone who is level 20 (basically an epic hero like hercules) should be able to hit pretty much anything they want with their weapon. I mean, that's all this class has to offer. You hit people for damage. You tumble then hit people for damage. If that is the only thing your class does it should probably do it well. --Andreichekov (talk)

I strongly suggest reducing the progression of bonus feats, the fighter gains A LOT and this guy gains twice as many. Also martial prowess is way to powerful, reduce the progression. Bonus feats at 2nd and ever 3 levels there-after. Martial prowess at 1st, 5th, and every 5 levels there-after. Make it so blademaster levels count as twice fighter levels for qualifying for feats. Also reduce the hit-dice to d6 (or d8 if you insist) drop the medium armor proficiency and the shield proficiency, but give it exotic weapon proficiency. Change "calm mind" to a +2 bonus only against mind-affecting. Change "courage" to a +4 bonus vs. fear. Maybe (just maybe) make dance of blades resemble the favorable number of attacks seen in 3.0 monks. A -3 to BAB as opposed to a -5 for normal ones. Change parry to a shield bonus (that stacks only with two-weapon defense). Add Bluff to class skills and remove listen.

Rating[edit]

Balance - 1/5 I give this class a 1 out of 5 because this class will be way overpowered. The martial prowess alone gives it an overbalancing bonus on attacks and damage, basically doubling the base attack bonus and giving bonuses on attacks that at level 20 quadruples the bonus from the most powerful magic weapons.

Wording - 3/5 I give this class a 3 out of 5 because the bonus feat feature isn't clear, deflection bonuses are magic, it would have to be a shield bonus or similar.

Formatting - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because It follows the general formatting very well

Flavor - 4/5 I give this class a 4 out of 5 because It introduces some original ideas
