General Discussion[edit]

Hey you all, I just wanted to have your thoughts of this subrace. Is it too strong or to weak?

I might give you some of my thoughts when creating this race:

First of all, I took the race out of Dennis L. McKiernans Mithgar-Novels and made some additions or modifications, just if you want to know, how I came up with this race.

Why these skills? Maybe you ask, why you gain Proficiency in Nature & Survival or Animal Handling. Read the History of this Subrace. The Baeron live in the Woods and among Animals. They are a lot like Wood Elves or Druids. So it is only natural, that they gain Proficiency in these Skills.

Why can´t I gain both Feats? I decided this, considering, that not every Baeron becomes a Shapeshifter and if they become one, they loose der Resistance to magic. I also thought, that not many would choose the first Trait, so I combined it with the Ability Score Improvement, making it more attractive. This is also the reason, why you can´t choose The Shapeshifter Feat in combination with the Improvement. For me, this would be a little bit OP.

I hope you like this Subrace as much as I do and i would be happy if you give me constructive Feedback on my first selfmade Race (I want to create a whole new race und also a new class, so your Feedback is extremly wanted).
